Scar 16 Nrch - It's unlikely that the SCAR Mk 2 will ever make it to the US, too bad I see the BCG is the opposite version.

FN America calls out the NRCH for the non-prescription charging handle, not the updated SCAR Mk2. The word also says that it is now fully ambidextrous, which is clearly not a visible bolt stop/release. I am looking to get an illegal SCAR and must have one or parts if ever available and compatible with my Belgium.

I'd like to know how FN makes an over the counter loading wheel that retains the front assist function. The HDD has a non-dominant bcg for 17/20, which is well thought out, but does not have a direct support function. Hopefully someone will pick it up and share it for us.
I have enough invested in my 2 17S and 1 20S to not switch to one of these newer versions. In some cases, it doesn't need to be compressed for me. Now if they upgrade the gas block and state that they are fully covered by the suppressor under warranty then I would have to consider it.

Another thing I find interesting are the photos of the NRCH 16s on the FN America website. If you scroll through the photos, you'll see it says "multi-caliber," which begs the question if FN America will eventually release a 300BLK conversion for the general population?
I called Customer Service, in the first quarter of 2022 they will have this as an accessory kit for old injuries.
Oh wow, I didn't even think to ask that.....(I'm not being sarcastic, I can't believe I forgot to ask).

I suspect the upgrade would be much more expensive than that. The updated models also appear to have a different bolt carrier group that is lighter to reduce recoil (and presumably to reduce optical abuse). Just a bolt carrier for the Scar 16/17 is close to $400, I'm sure $1000 isn't far off. Maybe one can just do the non-standard handle and not the bolt carrier, but I think one needs the other.
