Scar 17 Cost - FN SCAR 16S Carbine Earns Its High Price: My AR is one of the favorite rifles in my collection, so I'm reserving judgment on the FN Scar 16S until I've had a chance to shoot it. It is certainly expensive, but the United States. I found a reason why special forces in the military like to use it.
For starters, some of the best things about the FN SCAR 16S are the big features. The fire selector and magazine release are large enough that I can easily use gloves, and the scabbard heats up quickly, so I recommend wearing them.

The good news is that even after 100 rounds of testing, I have no errors, jams or problems, no matter how hot the magazine is. I also like that the key ring is big enough to hold a glove because they knew how hot it would be when they designed it.

All those features are built to be useful, but they're not in my way when I'm shooting. I will say that charging can pinch your finger with the optic if you don't. Be careful, but it is not a problem for me after the first time.
For test shooting, I fell in love. I spread within 2” at 100 yards and it didn't change much at 300 or 400 yards, even though I had to use the optic for those targets. That's when I came to know about the handle distance.
As easy as it is to separate and clean the scar, I did it in just a few minutes. I can also adjust the folding stock and the cheek rest in a comfortable position. My girl, and they managed to adjust so all the time.
There was no recoil that I noticed in the .223 round, thanks mostly to the muzzle break on the scar. Between that and the rifle is just more than 7 pounds, it is easy to maneuver with. 4 Picatinny rails allow me to see the hologram and hold it without problems.

I also like the gas piston firing system because it reduces gas emissions, but it also reduces carbon build up so I don't have to clean as much. It works with my AR magazines, but avoid using Gen II PMags because they will destroy your scope.
One thing I don't like about the SCAR is the price, because $3,300 is too much. While you can find guns in the same vein for less, they don't have the quality or durability that this gun brings to the table. FN Scar: Yes, worth it…
After 100 rounds on the range, it's no wonder military members love the FN Scar 16S Tactical Carbine. From handling accuracy and handling recoil I personally like it as much or more than my AR, so if you have the money I can't recommend the Scar enough.
